We were thrilled to once again play host along with Manatee Technical College to communities of Bradenton, Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, and the surrounding area.

The 2016 DaVinci’s Faire and BarCamp included such diverse topics as education, coding for the homeless, app development, civic engagement, what to expect when dialing 911, funding your entrepreneurial projects, reinvigorating our economies via the maker movement, and so much more.

The Fustino brothers, long time BarCamp participants, made rounds throughout DaVinci’s Faire and made attempts to win the “Quick Pitch” contest.

Speaking of “Quick Pitch”, Manasota SCORE along with Heather Holst-Knudsen from Hatchpad judged participants of the contest after a day-long session of business coaching. The final winner was Rocket Burns who only a year  prior said he wasn’t interested in becoming an entrepreneur. What a turnaround and positive development!

Spark Growth had a table setup to showcase their work along with Station 2 Innovation. A series of videos looped telling the story of Spark Growth, Sara Hand, and the history of Station 2 Innovation and its storied past. An informative video about the benefits of coworking was also included with a good many attendees pausing to soak in its meaning, raising awareness to accompany a surge in locations locally and across the Innovation Coast.

Throughout the day, Raymmar Tirado and Tyler with Sarasota Underground were ever present with mike and video. Check out their summary here and see more of their reporting at SarasotaUnderground.
