If you’ve never attended a DaVinci’s Faire and BarCamp conference event, you’re in for a treat! When you get to the conference location, pay a visit to the registration area where you’ll get your t-shirt and other information.
NOTE: Entry is FREE if you pre-register, please do so that we may accurately plan lunches and event logistics. If you do not do us the favor of pre-registration, you’ll be asked to pay $10 at the door to cover the cost of your lunch.
Once you’re checked in, go to the scheduling area where the agenda is being created on the fly – anyone interested in speaking schedules their presentations here. The agenda is available here or on a large monitor near the meeting rooms, and there’s a mobile website also available. The agenda is dynamically updated throughout the day as presentations are added or changed.
From there, find someone interesting to have a conversation with, choose a session that interests you, or take a tour of the school and have fun! BarCamp encourages participants to “vote with their feet” while attending the sessions. If a presentation isn’t working for you, feel free to visit another room instead. You will see people coming and going to the rooms throughout the conference.
Lunch is provided by the organizers. Feel free to bring your own lunch if you prefer. Restrooms, bottled water, and water fountains are readily available. You can eat inside or outside – share a space with someone and continue the conversation.
The conference will run all day Saturday until 5pm, but you can come at any time and stay as long or little as you like. The Saturday event is busy, with a full schedule to keep you occupied networking and attending a wide array of presentations.
BarCamp Sarasota-Bradenton can be described in three words: Share – Learn – Grow. Every attendee – no matter how old or young – has a story and an expertise. Come prepared to learn and share as we all grow together.
In addition to the conference event, there’s a family-friendly after-hours party on Saturday night that you won’t want to miss. Bring your family – there’s plenty of things to explore and do for everyone!
We encourage the use of social media throughout the weekend – please use the hash tag #bcsrq on Twitter for tweets related to the conference and reference @barcampsarasota on Facebook. Feel free to share links to our website or the registration pages with your friends and colleagues.
